Could “Facebook at Work” be a big threat to Microsoft’s Yammer?

Every company is going social these days. Companies need a social network platform that helps improve knowledge sharing, internal communication, decision-making and innovation.

Customers expect to interact with a company through social media and their services/products, and the employees expect to use the same tools and way of communicating internally as they use in their private life. So who is best when it comes to social networking? Facebook, of course. Facebook is the the biggest social network.  Rumour has it that Facebook are now developing a professional site that will stand alone from personal status updates.

IBM is offering IBM Connections, and Microsoft has got Yammer. They are both social networks for businesses. Now they have to compete with the world champion at social networking, Facebook. This is going to be interesting!
